Feb 1- Friday
Chem 112-Today we will spend 1/2 class in the lab lighting bunsen burners and the other 1/2 class working on the following....reading section 1.2 p 35 to 37 (make your own notes), Put figure 1.8 from p 36 into your notes. Please make sure you draw the flow chart from figure B1 into your notebook from p 580. You will also copy down an example of a two step metric question(the answer form #4 that you tried yesterday) and try 5, 7, 9 and 11 for homework.

Chem 122-P2 We will be doing calculations with enthalpy change and molar enthalpy for half of today's class (p 349-350 15, 18, 19 and 17) and I will distribute theory questions that will be started in class and completed as homework.
Chem 122 P3 We will be doing calculations with enthalpy change and molar enthalpy for half of today's class (p 349-350 15, 18, 19 and 17) and I will distribute theory questions that will be started in class and completed as homework.

Chem 111-Today we will spend 1/2 in the lab lighting bunsen burners, watching a Mg burning demo and some flame tests. The other 1/2 class will be spent working on finishing the worksheet form yesterday and working on another super worksheet on two step metric conversions. I will also give you some tips on conversions with square units and cubic units.

January 31-Thursday
Chem 112 - Today we went over the homework definitions from last night. I then went over some examples of metric conversion using an approach that your textbook will use for problems later on in the course. I assigned some practise questions from a "Sanford Sized" handout. -->#1, 2, 3, 6, 10, and 4.
Using p 28 from your textbook, I would like you to make up 1/2 page of notes. If you are checking this site out tonight, I would like you to review p 587 to 589 on lighting a bunsen burner. (those of you who have read this will be the first group to go into the lab tomorrow :)

Chem 122 P2- Your class will not get the review assignment until next monday...yes I know you are keen :) ... Today we continued on with specific heat capacity and worked on p 342 # 10 to 12. We went over exothermic and endothermic and a flow chart showing phase changes.

Chem 122 P3- Three people passed in their review assignments early and will be getting an extra 10% added on to their total mark on the assignment :) We continued on with specific heat capacity and worked on p 342 # 8 to 12. We went over exothermic and endothermic and a flow chart showing phase changes.
Chem 111 - Today we had our first homework check on last nights questions from p 28. We went over two more examples of metric conversion. I showed everyone a two step question. We then worked on the practise metric conversion questions from " a Sanford Sized" handout. I assigned up to the endof #9 from this handout, as well as some definitions from p 24-27. I also assigned reading from p 587 to p 589 on lighting a bunsen burner. Please make sure you draw the flow chart from figure B1 into your notebook from p 580.

January 30-Wednesday
Chem 112- Today was a shorter class than normal so we went over evalution and some important things to remember. I assigned some definitions from p 24-27 to be done as homework tonight. I also issued textbooks to everyone.
Chem 122 P2 We started our unit on Energy today. I assigned p 342 #8 and #9 after we went over the formula for q.
Chem 122 P3** We started our unit on Energy today. I assigned the example from the notes to be done as homework. I also passed out a review assign that will be due on friday.
Chem 111-Today was a shorter class than normal so we spent some time going over some typical"easier -type " metric conversion questions. I also assigned p 28-make up 1/2 page of notes and do #1 to 4b. I gave four formulas for everyone to study...sucrose, glucose, hydrogen
